Hello! My name is Brenda Bobadilla. Congratulations on taking your first steps in what I hope is a fulfilling journey of self-discovery and deep healing. I would be honored to work with you and support you on this journey.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have always been drawn in by the human experience and condition. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California, graduating in 2013. I have worked with families, children, youth and adults in community mental health, schools and skilled nursing facilities.
As a wife and mother, I know how busy life can be and how easy that makes it for many of us to neglect our own emotional and mental needs.
Life is an intense experience! We are all human and we must all face challenges in life. Sometimes these challenges can feel overwhelming or leave lasting effects that act as a barrier to embodying our highest selves, having healthy relationships or leading the life we want to live. The good news is that you are worthy; you are worthy of support, worthy of help and most of all, worthy of your own time and effort.
If you would like to begin discovering how to see the challenges in your life as opportunities to grow, find meaning and connect to yourself and others more deeply, I am here to hold space for you and provide guidance as needed. It is my job to attune myself to you so that I can best determine when you need a mirror, when to offer varying perspectives, when to provide you with concrete tools or when to simply listen with genuine curiosity and empathy.
My approach to therapy is holistic and person-centered, utilizing elements of various practices, including, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness techniques to best fit your needs as we move through your unique therapeutic process. The aspect that will always remain consistent, however, is the use of the therapeutic alliance we build together. This alliance is built by engaging in clear discussions of your therapeutic goals and maintaining a non-judgmental safe space in which you can be honest and vulnerable. The work of knowing thyself is not easy but I firmly believe that the most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself.
As you begin to feel more comfortable with the therapeutic process, you’ll start to discover that, ultimately, the answers you seek are within you! As your therapist, I will provide you with the emotional space and support to find these answers, when you are ready to do the work!
